We're Andy and Selvia. Married young, building this together in London, Ontario. This is why we make candles.
We're Andy and Selvia, the husband and wife behind Wick of Hope. We've been together since high school. We got married young, and somewhere along the way decided we wanted to build something of our own.
Selvia's parents had always pushed her to start a business. We'd tried before, and those tries didn't work. So when we started talking about doing it again, there was a lot of doubt.
What pushed us forward wasn't ambition. It was everything we were going through privately. Around the time we were dreaming up this company, we lost two pregnancies. Our first miscarriage was the hardest. We saw the heartbeat, and a short while later we were told the news no parent ever wants to hear.
We didn't talk about it much back then. Most people who lose a pregnancy don't. But it changed us, and it changed what we wanted this brand to be.
We named it Wick of Hope because hope is a word everyone carries differently.
The wick is the struggle. The flame is the hope.
Small, steady, sometimes the only light in the room. Every candle we pour is built around that idea.
We believe small, intentional moments have the power to change everything. A flame, a breath, a pause in a day that won't slow down on its own.
Each candle we make is more than a fragrance. It's a quiet invitation to set something down, to breathe, and to reconnect with the hope that lives inside you, even when it feels far away.
We exist to make that moment a little easier to find. For someone walking through a fertility journey. For someone grieving. For someone navigating a hard anniversary, a quiet morning, or a season they didn't see coming. For everyone whose path doesn't quite look like the picture in the ads.

We're a family-run company, hand-pouring candles in small batches with coconut soy wax and FSC-certified wooden wicks. We use the cleaner stuff because we wanted the candles in our own home to be clean first, and we make them the slow way because we don't know how to do it any other way.
We're proudly Ontario Made, proudly small, and proudly first-generation Canadians who started this with no investors, no shortcuts, and no plan to ever make this anything but a family business. Just the two of us, a team we love, and you.

Every candle you light helps fund something bigger than itself. Through our partnership with i=Change, every order contributes to a cause you choose at checkout: planting trees, supporting women's health, lifting communities out of poverty. Through Greenspark, every candle helps fund ocean plastic recovery, kelp forest restoration, and reforestation projects around the world.
