Good questions

Things people ask us.

Are these candles safe to burn around pets?

We don't make blanket "pet-safe" claims because every home, every pet, and every pet's health situation is different. What we can say is this: every candle in this collection is made without the essential oils most commonly flagged as irritants to pets (eucalyptus, peppermint, cinnamon, and citrus), and without paraffin or phthalates. If your pet has a specific sensitivity or medical condition, check with your vet before introducing any candle.

Why "pet-conscious" and not "pet-safe"?

Because "pet-safe" is a marketing claim, and we'd rather be honest. Pet-conscious means we made specific ingredient choices with sensitive homes in mind. We burn these in our own home, and we want you to feel good about doing the same.

What ingredients did you leave out?

No paraffin, no phthalates, no parabens, no dyes, and no essential oils from eucalyptus, peppermint, cinnamon, or citrus. Wicks are cotton, lead-free. Every product page lists the full scent profile.

What is coconut soy wax?

A blend of coconut wax and soy wax. It burns slower and cooler than paraffin, throws scent beautifully at lower temperatures, and contains zero petroleum byproducts.

Where are they made?

London, Ontario. Every candle is hand-poured by our small team in Canada. Nothing is mass-produced or outsourced overseas.

What's your return policy?

If a candle arrives damaged or doesn't burn correctly, write to us and we'll make it right. Unburned, unopened candles can be returned within 30 days.

A family with their dog and a Wick of Hope candle

A note from Selvia, co-founder

The candles I light in my own home.

"We share our home with the people and pets we love most. These are the candles I pour for our own kitchen, and the ones I'd send home with a friend who just adopted a kitten."

Eighteen scents. Coconut soy. No paraffin, no phthalates, no parabens. And none of the essential oils most commonly flagged as irritants to pets. Soft enough for sensitive homes, real enough to actually fill a room.
