Wick of Hope was founded by Andy and Selvia in London, Ontario, after struggling to find candles that were safe to burn.
What started with Andy’s sensitivity to paraffin wax and overpowering fragrances became a mission to craft cleaner candles — made for mindful homes and with purpose at heart.
Our candles are intentionally crafted for a naturally balanced aroma using essential oils or clean fragrance oils. While they may not be as overpowering as paraffin-based candles made with synthetic enhancers, they offer a cleaner, more mindful fragrance experience — better for your space, your well-being, and your air quality.
We get it — scent is personal. That’s why we offer optional Checkout+ protection at checkout. It gives you 30 days to return or exchange unused products with no added return shipping cost. If you don't select Checkout+, you’re still welcome to return within 30 days, but you’ll be responsible for your own return label.
Yes — and we’re proud of it. Our candles are made with 100% natural coconut soy wax, FSC-certified wooden wicks, and fragrance blends that are always paraben-free, phthalate-free, and cruelty-free. No paraffin. No petroleum. No greenwashing — just clean ingredients you can trust.
Each 8oz candle burns for up to 45 hours, and each tealight up to 3 hours. Our crackling wooden wicks and clean-burning wax ensure you get the most out of every candle — with minimal soot and maximum ambiance.
Yes — unopened, unused products can be returned or exchanged within 30 days. If you selected Checkout+ in your cart, you’ll get a return label automatically and save up to $25 in return shipping costs. If not, you're still covered, but return shipping will be your responsibility.
Our candles are made with safety in mind — using clean-burning wax and toxin-free ingredients. While they’re safe to use around pets and babies, we recommend burning in a well-ventilated room and keeping candles out of reach at all times.
Wick Maintenance: Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each burn, using a wick trimmer or scissors. This ensures a cleaner, safer burn and prolongs the life of your candle.
Materials Used: Our candles are thoughtfully crafted using eco-friendly coconut soy wax, renowned for its clean and sustainable burn. We use premium fragrance oils that are 100% phthalate-free, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Each candle features fsc-certified wooden wicks, both designed to provide a clean, even burn while prioritizing sustainability and quality.
While we currently don’t use essential oils due to potential safety concerns when burned (especially for pets and sensitive individuals), we do plan to introduce a line of essential oil-only candles in the near future. Stay tuned!
